“Observation is contextual. It is not objective; it says as much about the observer as the observed. We need to remember that our categories of diagnosing illnesses can also be harmful.” — Allison Crawford

About Me

A Thoughtful Approach to Meaningful Change

Welcome to Dialectics Psychology Counselling Clinic, part of Timeless View Psychotherapy.

I’m Jowah G. Zimuto, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

I believe therapy is, at its heart, a deeply human experience—one that begins with trust, curiosity, and the freedom to be fully yourself. My role is to offer a thoughtful, compassionate, and confidential space where you can step away from the demands of everyday life, reflect with greater clarity, and begin to understand yourself in new and meaningful ways.

My work is grounded in dialectical thinking: the understanding that life often asks us to hold seemingly opposing truths at the same time. We can accept ourselves as we are while pursuing meaningful change. We can acknowledge our suffering while still making room for hope. We can recognize our limitations while discovering new possibilities.

I believe that learning to hold these tensions—with compassion rather than judgment—can create the foundation for greater emotional freedom, resilience, self-awareness, and authenticity.

My therapeutic approach is individualized, collaborative, and evidence-informed. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and acceptance-based approaches, integrating these frameworks thoughtfully around your unique history, values, needs, and goals.

I hold a Master of Clinical Psychology from City University of Seattle and have developed extensive clinical experience across inpatient psychiatry, community mental health, and specialized therapeutic settings. I have completed postgraduate training in DBT and have provided individual therapy and DBT skills groups, as well as facilitated Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Changeways groups focused on depression.

I primarily work with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, perfectionism, overcontrol, insomnia, and complex mental health concerns. I have a particular interest in working with individuals seeking a deeper understanding of trauma, personality-related patterns, and the ways in which emotional overcontrol can shape relationships, identity, and everyday life.

Beyond my professional work, I am a father, grandfather, husband, uncle, and friend. I value relationships, lifelong learning, travel, and the richness of human experience. My interests in soccer, basketball, martial arts, UFC, boxing, and yoga have also taught me much about discipline, resilience, balance, and the capacity to grow through challenge.

I see therapy not simply as a place to reduce symptoms, but as an opportunity to develop a more meaningful relationship with yourself and with your life.

My hope is that our work together becomes a space where you feel seen without judgment, understood without assumption, and supported without losing your sense of autonomy.

A space to reflect on where you have been. To understand where you are. And, with greater clarity and intention, to decide where you want to go next.

You do not have to navigate that journey alone.
